Why should Rainforests be protected?
Rainfroests should be protected because humans are overusing them and not putting them to good use. We take too much and we need to start giving back. People should actually listen to the protesters because they make some good points like if you take it replace it. They help us survive so we should help them back.
Why are rainforests valued?
Rainforests are valued as they provide many resources for the Earth such as paper, oxygen, foods and medcines, they are homes to many animals that would go extinct without the rainforest and they help stabilize the earths climate.
In further detail on how rainforests help stabilize the Earths climate, the trees take excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere which means that the earths temperature will stop increasing and eventually go back to normal.

Day 6 - Why are Rainforests important?
Rainforests are very important as they are our natural providers of some of the worlds most needed objects. Some of these include-
- Oxygen- Trees inhale in the Carbon Dioxide and exhale Oxygen which is what humans need to survive.
- Paper- Paper is in everyday use as almost everyone needs it. Schools use it, officeworkers use it and just an average person uses it.
- Land- People come to cut trees down to make room for more houses and buildings.
- Foods and Medicines- Someof the fruits, herbs and flowers in a rainforest provide foods and live saving medicines.

Day 5- Where are Rainforests found in the world? Use a world map to illustrate
There are many rainforests in the world. Here are some places were they are found-

This map indicates the major rainforests of the world.

Day 4 - What plants live in the rainforest? (There are 4 main types of plants list them all and give examples of each)
There are many varieties of plants in a rainforest. There are four main types which are-
http://www.davidlnelson.md/Cazadero/FourGroupsPlants.htm
- Mosses- Mosses are land plants but they do not have seeds or flowers. It belongs to the bryophytes group.
- Ferns- Like Moss, Ferns too, don't have flowers. Unlike Moss, ferns have a vascular system made up of phloem and xylem. They belong to the plant group of pteridophytes.
- Flowering plants- Flowering plants are in the group of angiosperms. Flowers attract many animals which helps in the area of pollenation.
- Conifers- Finally, Conifers belong to the group called gymnosperms.

Day 3 - What animals live in the rainforest? Which layer of the rainforest do they live in? Select one rainforest animal, find a picture of it and describe its habitat.
There are a variety of animals that inhabit the rainforest including insects, reptiles, birds, mamals and amphibians. All animals have there place in the layers of the rainforest. For example, most larger animals live on the forest floor, birds are on the canopy or emergent layer, monkeys and animals like the sloth are on the trees and insects are roaming everywhere.
The animal I have chosen is the Anaconda. The anaconda is the largest snake in the world. This huge reptile lives in swampy areas of tropical South America. Like all snakes, anacondas are cold-blooded. The longest anaconda ever found was 37.5 feet (11.4 m) long. Anacondas are greenish-brown with black oval spots on the back.

Day 2- What are the Layers of the rainforest? Illustrate.
There are four layers of the rainforest, each one contains differnt animals and plants.
- The very top layer is the emergent layer, it is the tops of the tallest trees in the rainforest.
- Next is the canopy layer which is a thick spread of branches and leaves.
- Below that is the understory which has many inhabitants including lots of insects and frogs.
- Second from the bottom is not a layer that ahs been mentioned much, it is the scrub layer which is all the dead leaves and fallen branches and even some insects.
- The bottom layer is the forest floor it is very dark and damp as it does not get much light.

Day 1 - What is a Rainforest?
A rainforest is a vast space filled with rich and dense plant life. The rainforest also is a habitat to animals of all shapes and sizes, these animals depend on their natural environment for food and shelter.
There are two types of rainforests, Temperate and Tropical. Tropical rainforests are more common as they are closer to the equator and as an effect have more animals because of the warmer climate. On the other hand Temperate rainforests are cooler in climate as they are in the coastal regions further from the equator.
There are five layers in a rainforest. The bottom being the forest floor, above that is usually forgotten about, but is called the scrum layer which is all the decomposing leaves and fallen branches. Next is the understory, canopy and emergent layers. The canopy and emergent layers are very thick so they block the rest of the layers of the rainforest from getting alot of light.
