The issue I have chosen that affects the rainforest is deforestation.
Deforestation is when people cut down trees in the rainforest to use for buildings, paper and many other things. This can also be done to clear the land for building developments.
Deforestation can also lead to detrimental affects on things such as the ozoan layer. This can depleat the ozoan layer because of the heavy machinery involved in this dangerous activity, these machines pollute the air because of all the petrol they use to power the machines. If this problem isnt fixed it will cause outrage in environmentalists and more importantly less oxygen, because the trees arn't filtering it through their systems and harmful UV rays from the sun coming in through the holes in the ozoan layer.
Some know deforestation as cutting down trees for a good cause while it is actually not. it is killing animals and this means they cant breed and continue there species.

Why should Rainforests be protected?
Rainfroests should be protected because humans are overusing them and not putting them to good use. We take too much and we need to start giving back. People should actually listen to the protesters because they make some good points like if you take it replace it. They help us survive so we should help them back.
Why are rainforests valued?
Rainforests are valued as they provide many resources for the Earth such as paper, oxygen, foods and medcines, they are homes to many animals that would go extinct without the rainforest and they help stabilize the earths climate.
In further detail on how rainforests help stabilize the Earths climate, the trees take excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere which means that the earths temperature will stop increasing and eventually go back to normal.

Day 6 - Why are Rainforests important?
Rainforests are very important as they are our natural providers of some of the worlds most needed objects. Some of these include-
- Oxygen- Trees inhale in the Carbon Dioxide and exhale Oxygen which is what humans need to survive.
- Paper- Paper is in everyday use as almost everyone needs it. Schools use it, officeworkers use it and just an average person uses it.
- Land- People come to cut trees down to make room for more houses and buildings.
- Foods and Medicines- Someof the fruits, herbs and flowers in a rainforest provide foods and live saving medicines.

Day 5- Where are Rainforests found in the world? Use a world map to illustrate
There are many rainforests in the world. Here are some places were they are found-

This map indicates the major rainforests of the world.

Day 4 - What plants live in the rainforest? (There are 4 main types of plants list them all and give examples of each)
There are many varieties of plants in a rainforest. There are four main types which are-
http://www.davidlnelson.md/Cazadero/FourGroupsPlants.htm
- Mosses- Mosses are land plants but they do not have seeds or flowers. It belongs to the bryophytes group.
- Ferns- Like Moss, Ferns too, don't have flowers. Unlike Moss, ferns have a vascular system made up of phloem and xylem. They belong to the plant group of pteridophytes.
- Flowering plants- Flowering plants are in the group of angiosperms. Flowers attract many animals which helps in the area of pollenation.
- Conifers- Finally, Conifers belong to the group called gymnosperms.

Day 3 - What animals live in the rainforest? Which layer of the rainforest do they live in? Select one rainforest animal, find a picture of it and describe its habitat.
There are a variety of animals that inhabit the rainforest including insects, reptiles, birds, mamals and amphibians. All animals have there place in the layers of the rainforest. For example, most larger animals live on the forest floor, birds are on the canopy or emergent layer, monkeys and animals like the sloth are on the trees and insects are roaming everywhere.
The animal I have chosen is the Anaconda. The anaconda is the largest snake in the world. This huge reptile lives in swampy areas of tropical South America. Like all snakes, anacondas are cold-blooded. The longest anaconda ever found was 37.5 feet (11.4 m) long. Anacondas are greenish-brown with black oval spots on the back.
